Mervyn Walker
Managing Director and Company Secretary

Having achieved his Approved Driving Instructor qualification early in 1992, Mervyn was soon afterwards, appointed as Branch Manager with the British School of Motoring at their Stratford, East London Branch, later moving to the Stoke Newington Branch. During that period, Mervyn was responsible for the follow up training of approximately 100 driving instructors.

Due to a restructuring of the company, Mervyn left BSM in 1999 and joined the AA Driving School, primarily teaching new drivers.

The AA soon recognised Mervyn’s qualities and invited him to become an integral member of the ‘Train the Trainer’ team, teaching existing driving instructors to train new driving instructors.

During this period, Mervyn achieved the coveted DSA Fleet Driver Trainer qualification and the Official Register of Driving Instructor Trainers certificate.

Trevor Spring
Chairman

On leaving school, Trevor joined The British Army staying for 5 years. He trained as mechanic / driver on HGV’s, achieving the rank of Senior Driver. Trevor was an Army Trainer, instructing others in Radio operator, weapons use & off road driving, including car / hgv instruction.

On leaving The Army Trevor entered the transport industry, and was involved in various roles, ranging from HGV driver to transport manager.

Becoming disillusioned with the transport industry Trevor retrained as a driving instructor. Qualifying in 2001, Trevor has since gained the coveted DSA Fleet Driver Trainer certificate, is an Institute of Advanced Motorists preferred driving Instructor and is a Diamond Master Driver.

Having achieved the DSA Fleet Driver Trainer qualification, Mervyn and Trevor became disillusioned with other fleet companies, due to the pricing and remuneration packages on offer. It became apparent that most ‘Fleet Training’ companies were charging exorbitant fees to the client, but remunerating the instructors & trainers with below average wages.

With this in mind Driving Partners Ltd was launched with the following ethic – ‘A fair and reasonable price for the Client, a fair and reasonable reward for the trainer.

Driving Partners Ltd will at all times conduct business in an ethical and fair manner, will act professionally to their clients’ and their employees.
